Camp Policy
Policy & Guidelines
We encourage all parents and guardians to read our camp policies fully. All staff follow these policies and procedures and are unable to make exceptions for any reason. These policies and guidelines are applicable to all camps within the umbrella of Free State Camps.
HEALTH:
Free State Camps reserves the right to request additional information about campers or to arrange a parent meeting after all health forms have been submitted. Should Free State Camps determine that it cannot reasonably meet the needs of an individual camper, it reserves the right to accept or deny admission. If admission is denied, all deposits and payments will be refunded. We request that parents and guardians provide details regarding any medical conditions, including physical, psychiatric, or behavioral issues; medications; dietary restrictions; allergies; or special needs that we should be aware of to ensure a positive camp experience for your child.
REFUNDS:
Refunds will not be offered if the summer camp is closed due to weather conditions or for any reason outside of our control that would prohibit the camp from operating safely.
CAMP BEHAVIORAL GUIDELINES & CODE OF CONDUCT:
All parents are encouraged to thoroughly review the Free State Camps Code of Conduct Agreement included in the camp documentation. Free State Camps is dedicated to creating a safe, healthy, and enjoyable environment for all participants.
Free State Camps reserves the right to dismiss any camper or participant who fails to comply with announced safety or health regulations or exhibits disruptive behavior that may pose a risk to themselves or others. Participants are expected to maintain respectful physical boundaries and refrain from inappropriate conduct.
Behavior such as teasing, horseplay, pushing, kicking, hitting, spitting, biting, fighting, bullying, cursing, racial remarks, slurs, or harassment can result in immediate removal from our program. To maintain a positive experience for our campers and ensure each child's safety, we will uphold a zero-tolerance policy for extreme actions, words, or behaviors.
Free State Camps Code of Conduct (for actions outside of the above):
- First Offense: The camper will be removed from the current activity, and parents will receive a phone call.
- Second Offense: The camper will be sent home for the day.
- Third Offense: The camper will not be permitted to return to the camp (no refunds will be provided).
In alignment with our commitment to providing a positive experience for our campers and ensuring every child's safety, we will uphold our zero-tolerance policy for severe misconduct.
NOTE: It is not feasible to anticipate every possible situation that may arise. In circumstances not explicitly covered by the guidelines, common sense and courtesy shall prevail.
